Advertising Disclosure

Since 2015, the Federal Trade Commission has had new rules for Disclosure Compliance. These rules are set in place to ensure that readers like you know if an individual or company is sponsored, endorsed, or partnered with a different company. In plain terms, readers need to know if the link-sharer is making money by sharing a link or product.

In compliance with the FTC guidelines, please assume the following about links and posts on this site: Any/all of the links on Masgrimes.com are affiliate links from which we receive a small compensation from sales of certain items.

What are affiliate links?

When you click on a link to a product from our website and are able to purchase it on a site like Paper and Ink Arts or Amazon, your visit to those sites is logged as coming from Masgrimes.com. If, during your visit, you decide to purchase said item, we often earn a small portion of your sale in the form of a commission.

Prices are exactly the same for you if your purchase is through an affiliate link or a non-affiliate link. It is the retailer that shares a portion of the sale with us. You will not pay more by clicking through on our affiliate links.

On Masgrimes.com we use two main types of affiliate programs:

1. Amazon affiliate links.

Masgrimes is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon properties including, but not limited to, amazon.com, endless.com, myhabit.com, smallparts.com, or amazonwireless.com. Amazon offers a small commission on products sold through their affiliate links. Each of your purchases via our Amazon affiliation links supports Masgrimes at no additional cost to you.

If we link to an Amazon product (with a special code for affiliates embedded in the link), and a reader places an item in their “shopping cart” through that link within 24 hours of clicking the link, Masgrimes gets a small percentage of the sale.

2. Product affiliate links.

These affiliate links work the same way: if you click the link and buy the product, then Masgrimes gets a percentage of the sale or some other type of compensation. Again, prices are not different if you use these affiliate links. You will not pay more by clicking through to the link. These links are not “pay per click.”

What about sponsored content?

If a post of Masgrimes is sponsored by a company, we will disclose this clearly in the beginning of the post. For the most part, we refuse to agree to promote a company until we’ve have had an opportunity to review their product or service and decide if it is something we want to share with our valued readers.

As for our social media pages where we use affiliate links for product recommendations, we will include a link to this post, or put “(affiliate link)”, or #ad in the post.

Thank you for taking the time to read this disclosure statement, and we hope that it helps to serve as a transparent way of showing just how your visits here help support us and our pursuit of penmanship and calligraphy.
